My Heart Belongs To You


Even if you can't hear me... I'll continue to call out to you.

I'll continue to love you, no matter what happens...


I still remember the day you saved me, I was so afraid...but you let me clung to you as a support. I remember my heart beat twice, faster than before. We climbed tall houses like it was nothing, it almost felt like I was flying. The air that greets us while we soar above houses, it smelled like titans and blood, but I imagined it to be clean like the ones before the titans came.


I was sad when you left me at the orphanage, I held your hand...not wanting you to let go. You crouched down at my height, and looked at me face to face. Tears were attempting to fall at the moment you would say goodbye. Instead you said;


"When you're old enough, come and find me. If you want, join the military." you smiled.


I was lost at words, I thought you would say goodbye...but it was a saying that we will meet again. I quickly nodded, to seal the promise. You patted me head and left, my heart felt heavy, I wanted to see you again.


As years passed by, I grew up to fulfill the vow I gave you. I swore to find you, to join the military to be reunited to you again. I signed up for the training, it was said that I'd be training for three years...three years is nothing if that is need to be done in order to be with you again.


Three years have passed, and the military training was worth it. I worked hard for the third place that I earned, to show you that I'm capable of protecting you. I smiled to myself. Years have passed, and I stood here...in front of your military branch.


I was hoping to find you, I was hoping you'd remember me. A child that you'd promise to meet again, and here we would meet. I stood in line with the other cadets that came with me to the Scouting Legion.


The commander spoke with power, he welcomed us in the Scouting Legion. I felt happy, for the second time of my life..I would be able to see you. The black hair that gracefully flows with the wind, steele blue eyes that have pride in them. I was proud of myself to achieve something...you gave me the purpose of living.


I wandered through the halls of the castle, hoping to finding you. I never did knew your name...you never told me that day. How am I suppose to find you, if I don't even know your name? These are my questions that I hope you'd answer.


"Oi, cadet." a voice called from my behind. I turned to see whom it was, I was surprised that it was you.


"Sir!" I saluted. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know if you'd recognize me anymore.


"What are you doing? Why are you walking aimlessly here?" he asked, his expression was the same as I have met him, but kinder.


"Sir, I was...I wanted to find you, sir. I want to talk to you." I answered reluctantly.


"You are talking to me right now." your expression remained stoic. I furrowed my brows, I was confused why were you like this. Probably because you didn't recognize me.


"Sir, don't you recognize me?" I asked. You narrowed your eyes.


"Sadly, no. Who are you anyway?" I bit lip, I was debating with myself if I should tell. But my hard work would be gone to waste if I didn't do it.

"I was the child you saved before, you told me if I wanted to find you... I joined the military. I did... now I hope you recognize me, sir." your mouth created a straight line.

"You...were that...girl?"you tilted your head, as if you're too shock to see me. I slowly nodded.


"I worked hard, to see you again...er, sir." I looked away. The reunion felt really awkward. But who cares, I did this to see you again. I embraced you, feeling your warmth again. This is it, this is what I was looking for. You hugged back.


"I thought I'd never see you again, kid. I thought you weren't gonna join the military, once you knew that titans are gruesome creatures.


"I know that but, I needed to see you again. I missed you. I wished you didn't left me back the orphanage. Now that I'm here, I can't be separated with you again." I let go of you, tears poured down on my cheeks, I didn't care.


"Oi cadet!" his voice made snap out my thoughts. Was it only a day-dream? It seemed so real, I was starting to believe it was real.


"Yes, sir?" I asked.


"Go to the mess hall, the other cadets are present there. Stop wandering around."he turned on his heels and left. I never got the chance to talk to you... maybe in the mess hall I'd be able to. I reluctantly walk towards the mess hall.


I looked at you from afar...you were with your squad.I learned of your name, it was Levi. A name befit for an honorable man. I heard that you were close with them. What if I became a part of your squad too? Will you be closer to knowing who I am?


I frowned at my pessimistic thoughts. I noticed a girl in your squad, she's pretty. Do you like her? Or maybe, are you in a relationship with her? I felt my heart cracked as I continue to eat my tasteless food.


*timeskip into the expedition~!*


Today's the day where a cadet like me can go outside, today's the expedition. I felt quite nervous, its my first time to be outside. I was near you in our position, I was relieve to see you. I hope we both survive this expedition.



Almost devoured, I continue to struggle in the tight grip of the monster. My last breath calls over your name. Levi...

Levi...come and meet me again, as promised.

I knew that you weren't gonna come, you were dealing with them yourself...you are busy. Who am I to be of importance to you? I'm just a lucky girl that you saved, and promised to.

How heartbreaking love is...

My bones cracked at the pressure that held me. This pain was nothing compared to the pain of not seeing you again. If I ever survive this, I maybe crippled. I screamed, howling through the pain that overloaded my nerves. The grip felt loosened, I felt falling, but I thought of it as flying.

A man held me in his arms. His voice rang inside my head...it all seemed so familiar.

"Cadet..cadet!!" he shouted. I tried to open my eyes, the sight was somewhat blurry... but I pushed my eyes to re-adjust. It was you! My heart leaped in joy, I was able to see you again even if I'm one step to death already.

"S-sir..."I smiled at you. "I hope that you remembered me... I was the one you save before... I'm sorry, if I didn't tell you earlier. You seemed so happy with your friends, that I didn't want to bother you anymore with your past." you remained speechless.

"I'm sorry...I.."you frowned.

"Don't be.."I smiled at your almost tearful face."I'm just happy to be here, with you." my last breath was an encourage to you.

Ashes flutter against the wind, you looked at the fire that was burning low. I wanted to ask you why were you sad...we finally met, right? Aren't you happy? Don't worry, I'll protect you, now that I'm here... I'm one with the wind now.

My heart belongs to you, now and forever...


After dissolving into the air... I'll continue to watch over you.

I'll continue to call your name, singing it in a song of eternity... wanting to meet you

in an afterlife...
